Eredivisie Football
The 2010/2011 season of Eredivisie football in Holland promises another action packed year as FC Twente look to regain the title they won for the first time in their history last season.
Two new sides will compete in this year’s Dutch Football league with Excelsior and De Graafschap joining from the Eerste Divisie.
Dutch soccer has been in a down period for the past few years with the big sides of the Netherlands failing to mount any real threat in European competition. While Ajax, Feyenoord, Twente and PSV remain the top names the league has to offer, often; failure early on in the Europa League or UEFA Cup has seen the country’s past aura of having the best teams Europe has to offer slowly diminish. The same cannot however be said for the Dutch national team who continue to impress, reaching the World Cup 2010 final in the summer.
Of course, with a downturn in the league’s popularity comes a lack of international TV coverage for Live Eredivisie Matches. While Sportklub, JSC and Eredivisie Live TV offer expensive and semi regular methods of catching Dutch football, LiveFootballStreams show’s almost each and every match from the Eredivisie streaming live online.
